Position: Teaching Artists - Vacation Programs 

Reports to: Education Director, Stadium Theatre Performing Arts Centre

Position Summary: The Stadium Theatre Conservatory’s Education Department is seeking energetic, creative Teaching Artists to be a part of our 2020 school vacation programs. The Stadium Theatre Conservatory is host to winter and spring week-long intensives as well as 3 two- week summer sessions. All programs culminate in a free, for family and friends, public performance. Each program consists of classes in acting, dance and vocal performance where students build skills for the stage. Students gain practical experience taking part of a fully realized mini musical theatrical production. Our week-long theatre programs are held during the February and April school vacation weeks and Summer Stage is held throughout the months of July and August. All programs run from 9 AM-4 PM. Teaching Artists are responsible to follow the curriculum created by the Education Director.

Responsibilities:
• Attending Stadium’s Teaching Artist Training and faculty meetings pertaining to the program you are being considered for. (April Vacation:    March 26, Summer Vacation: June 11 from 6:00-7:30 PM, February Vacation: January 29).
• Submit daily lesson plans based on the curriculum created by the Education Director.
• All teaching artists are expected to be in attendance during the entire session hired for from 8:30 AM – 4:15 PM.
• Provide excellent leadership, mentorship and guidance for all participants in the program.
• Nurture positive relationships with all students, parents, and Stadium staff.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, Theatre Education is preferred.
• Teaching experience and the ability to creatively work with youth.
• Expertise in the performing arts.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Positivity, enthusiasm, flexibility and a sense of humor is a must!

Program Dates:
Spring Stage Session I 2020: Monday, April 13-Friday, April 17
Spring Stage Session II 2020: Monday, April 20-Friday, April 24

Summer Stage 2020
Session I: Monday, July 6 – Friday, July 17
Session II: Monday, July 20 – Friday, July 31
Session III: Monday, August 3 – Friday, August 14

Winter Stage 2021: Monday, February 15 – Friday, February 19

Conservatory classes are offered year-round in three 10-12 week sessions. Positions are filled on a rolling basis. Teaching Artists are responsible to follow the curriculum created by the Education Director.

• Attending Stadium’s Teaching Artist Training, annual open house and all faculty meetings.
• Submit daily lesson plans based on the curriculum created by the Education Director.
• All teaching artists are expected to be in attendance during the entire session hired for.
• Provide excellent leadership, mentorship and guidance for all participants in the program.
• Nurture positive relationships with all students, parents, and Stadium staff.

Open House: Saturday, August 29 from 10 AM – 3 PM

Fall Session: Monday, August 31 – Saturday, November 21

Winter Session: Monday, January 4 – Saturday, March 13

Spring Session: Monday, March 29 – Saturday, June 4
