Stadium Theatre Education Programs

The Stadium offers a broad spectrum of theatre education programs that are designed to offer children and adults the opportunity to develop an appreciation for the performing arts, while enhancing theatrical knowledge and skills.

The Stadium's education programs are set up in progressive "ACTS", each offering an increased level of experience. Many performers at the Stadium Theatre began their theatrical journey in ACT I, our youth theatre education programs, advancing to ACT III, our full-scale theatrical productions.

ACT I - For Youth, No Experience Necessary

Summer Stage
This two week program, held through July and August, immerses attendees of any skill level in a creative theatre experience filled with fun, professionally instructed games and theatre exercises. Small group and individual class instruction by our experienced directors and choreographers will boost self-confidence, facilitate critical thinking and encourage team building skills. This program culminates in a in a musical finale. For ages 5 to 8 & ages 9-16.

Winter Stage
Held during February vacation, this program offers youth a productive activity for the week that will will boost self-confidence, facilitate critical thinking and encourage team building skills. Participants will enjoy taking part in all aspects of staging a performance from acting and singing to choreography and blocking. This program culminates in a in a musical finale. For ages 5 to 8 & ages 9-16.

Spring Stage
Held during April vacation, this program offers youth a productive activity for the week that will will boost self-confidence, facilitate critical thinking and encourage team building skills. Participants will enjoy taking part in all aspects of staging a performance from acting and singing to choreography and blocking. This program culminates in a in a musical finale. For ages 5 to 8 & ages 9-16.

Young Actors Academy
YAA is an 11 week, hands on, theatre arts education program, designed to teach budding theatre artists about all aspects of a musical theatre production. Participants will enjoy taking part in all aspects of staging a performance from acting and singing to choreography and blocking. This program culminates in a in a fully-staged musical finale. For ages 5 to 12.

Young Actors Academy Plus
YAA Plus is a 11 week musical theatre education series. This accelerated class is the perfect next step for Young Actors Academy alumni. YAA Plus students will audition for, and be awarded specific lead and ensemble roles. After auditions, classes will be spent rehearsing for the final recital. Students will hone new intermediate theatre skills such as new dance steps, character development, stage presence, scene and partner work. This program culminates in a in a fully-staged musical finale. For ages 8 to 18.

ACT II - For Youth, Some Experience Needed

The Stadium Theatre presents multiple theatre productions each year that are designed to provide young, aspiring actors with a gateway into the world of the theatre arts. Participants must audition to be cast in these productions. If selected, actors must attend weekly rehearsals, including tech week, as they prepare for a full-scale theatre production. This is the ideal "next step" for YAA, Summer Stage, Winter Stage and Spring Stage participants. View upcoming audition dates.

ACT III - For Youth & Adults, Must Have Experience

The Stadium Theatre presents multiple full-scale musicals and plays several times a year which require experienced performers. Actors must audition to be cast in these productions. If selected, participants must attend weekly rehearsals, including tech week, as they prepare for a full-scale theatre production. View upcoming audition dates.

Education Outreach Programs

The Imagination Series (School Time Performances)
The Stadium’s ‘Imagination Series’ offers stimulating, educational productions throughout the school year at the Stadium for students during school hours at discounted rates. School Time Performances are available to schools and educational affiliates only.
