Fundamentals of Lighting Design

For Ages 14 to Adult


 

This course explores the artistry of lighting design for the stage. Participants will gain overall knowledge by working hands on with stage equipment, while learning how and where to apply elements in a design project. Students will learn about lighting history and safety, types of fixtures, as well as technical design using color, intensity and focus. Students will observe the functions and responsibility of a lighting designer prior to and during tech week for a production. Students will work together, spending the majority of their time working on stage in the Grand Hall.

The Safety of our Stadium family is paramount. We are following the state of Rhode Island guidelines and recommendations to keep all participants safe. Mandatory safety procedures include health screenings of all participants upon arrival for every class, as well as mandatory mask wearing at all times. When are the Stadium's Fundamentals of Lighting Design classes?

10 Weeks: Mondays, January 4th – March 15th from 5:30 PM - 7 PM
(no classes held on February 15th)


What does the Fundamentals of Lighting Design course cost?

Tuition is $220 (Full tuition is due at registration.)
